We criss-crossed Australia for two weeks, covering over 17,400 kilometers to capture the human stories behind BHP's Social Value initiatives. We had four Numax Crew on this project. We traveled through Queensland, South Australia, and Western Australia, documenting authentic connections between BHP and local communities including Indigenous groups, farmers and local business owners flourishing through genuine partnership.
Despite tight timeframes and harsh conditions, we delivered exceptional results. Over 6TB of high-quality media was captured, creating a comprehensive library that continues to serve BHP across multiple platforms. Our photographs now grace office walls worldwide, while video content appears in everything from internal communications to major television campaigns.

This groundbreaking project showcased the complete coal journey, from overburden removal to retrieval, processing, and final train load-out, capturing perspectives never before seen in mining operations.
Safety remained the highest priority throughout this complex undertaking. Months of intensive planning and coordination ensured zero risk to personnel while protecting the coal product from contamination. Our team worked closely with Anglo to construct precise flight paths, drawing on specialised certifications and expertise that few production companies nationwide have access to. Computer simulations of the mine site were built so the FPV pilot could rehearse every movement, ensuring flawless execution when cameras rolled.
The final piece, enhanced with a custom cinematic soundtrack, created a truly immersive experience that went viral across Anglo's platforms. Beyond driving significant traffic and fostering employee pride, this unique content educated the wider public about the sophisticated processes involved in coal extraction, demonstrating how innovative storytelling can transform industrial operations into compelling visual narratives.
